Staccfuto.com is the official website of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Chaplaincy (STACC), Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), Imo State, Nigeria.
This chaplaincy is the home of all Catholics in the university including students, academic and non-academic staff, and people living around the university and also in Owerri town; who desire to worship with the university community.
With the growing strength of the Catholic community and the growing number of alumina all over the world, STACCFUTO.COM is proposed and realised in order to maintain close contact with interested external bodies and individuals. NFCS FUTO TO HOST NATIONAL YOUTH CONFERENCE - October 2011
Nigeria Federation of catholic students FUTO Chapter under the Owerri Ecclesiastical province is to host the Biennial national Youth conference of Nigeria federation of Catholic students.
According to the communiqué from the National Executive Council meeting of NFCS held at UNIJOS in March and that held at UNIBEN in May in which NFCS Owerri province was represented by her secretary, Ikerionwu Chrysogonus. It was unanimously agreed that Owerri province should play the host.
Subsequently, at the Provincial Executive Council of NFCS held at MOUAU in July, it was further agreed that FUTO chapter should host the biennial event.
The date of the conference, October 27th - 30th was further confirmed after the delegates visit ( comprising of National President- Ogbu Stanislaus, Provincial secretary- Ikerionwu Chrysogonus & local Organizing chairman - Uzoanya Clement) to the Metropolitan Archbishop of Owerri province - Archbishop A.J.V. Obinna on 8th August 2011.
The 3-day conference is to hold in FUTO, it will feature Talks, Holy Mass, Quiz Competition, talent hunt, unveiling of National Secretariat plan, launching of the annual NFCS magazine - Videntes Fides. MORNING STAR THEATRE TROUPE -Epitome Of The Stage.
Some things are left undone; some words are left unsaid but some talented displays like that done by the Morning Star Theatre troupe cannot be left unexpressed.
The 6th of August showcased again these wonderful talents as Morning Star Theatre troupe had her semester production with the theme, "Exclusive @ not just laff. Com" at the Hall of Mercy.
The event featured drama, choreography, dance, comedy & music with guest Theatre troupes from ABSU & IMSU.
Oziomachi Cultural Troupe of NFCS, STACC was also there, the mind thrilling and colorful dance performance by the troupe was so impressive that the dancers received a standing ovation. The Golden voices was not left out. 2weeks earlier they've organized the best Musical concert to be noted this year among institutions with heart mending concept & superb organization - CANZONA III………More than Music. Their rendition at the event thrilled the audience who termed it "celestial Choir".
The major drama for the event was that titled, "The Sacrifice". Its setting was that of a traditional ancient village. It portrays the stop to diabolical sacrifices by the advent of Christianity also emphasizing the women's role as agents of change in the society....READ MORE
N.F.C.S. FUTO GETS NEW EXECUTIVES.
As the mantle given to the Osi Kenneth led Administration as Executives of NFCS FUTO drew close to an end and bearing in mind that the duty has to be continued by other persons, the NFCS election became a necessity. A committee led by Uzoanya Clement was set up as provided in the NFCS Constitution in July 2011 and on Saturday 13th August 2011, the election came as a surprise after the 7:00am mass.
Out of the 125 names (75males and 50 females) gotten from sodalities/ executive committee, 31 names (18males & 13males) were presented for election. After a democratic election which was clearly & openly done by Mass voting, the following persons emerged as NFCS executives....READ MORE
